Taylor Swift Sets New ARIA Chart Record with ‘The Life of a Showgirl’
## Taylor Swift’s Chart Dominance
It’s no surprise that Taylor Swift’s latest album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, has taken the ARIA charts by storm this week. The American artist’s 12th studio album made a spectacular entry at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. This achievement marks her 14th album to hit the top spot, contributing to an impressive total of 69 weeks at #1.
### Impressive Milestones
According to ARIA, Swift has now claimed the #2 position on the list of artists with the most #1 albums since the chart’s inception in 1983. The only artist surpassing her is Jimmy Barnes, with 16 chart-toppers—though he also had six more from his time with Cold Chisel.
Interestingly, only two of her studio or re-recorded albums have missed the top position: her 2006 debut, *Taylor Swift*, which reached #33, and 2008’s *Fearless* at #2. However, *Fearless (Taylor’s Version)* climbed to #1 in 2021.
### New Records on the Singles Chart
On the Singles Chart, the Pennsylvania native has set a remarkable record by securing the entire top 12 positions with tracks from *The Life of a Showgirl*. Leading the pack is “The Fate of Ophelia,” which sits at #1. This track marks Swift’s 13th chart-topper and her first since “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, which dominated the charts for two weeks last year. Moreover, “The Fate of Ophelia” is her 54th top 10 single, a journey that began with *Love Story*, which also held the #1 position back in 2009.
Swift’s album has pushed Olivia Dean’s *The Art of Loving* down to #3, while the *KPop Demon Hunters* soundtrack has returned to #2. Rounding out the top five are Sabrina Carpenter’s *Man’s Best Friend* and indie rock outfit The Rions’ debut album, *Everything Every Single Day*, at #5.
In other news, Terrigal’s singer-songwriter BOY SODA made an impressive debut at #32 with his album *Soulstar*.
