After the success of Rishab Shetty’s film Kantara Chapter 1, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma proclaimed that “all filmmakers” should feel “ashamed.”
Actor-director Rishab Shetty has addressed the admiration shown by Ram Gopal Varma following the release of Kantara Chapter 1. RGV expressed in a post that “all filmmakers in India should feel ashamed” after viewing the film. He further mentioned that Rishab has “pioneered a movement of disruption” in cinema. In a recent interview with Zoom, the Kannada superstar shared his thoughts on the matter.

When asked about RGV’s compliments, Rishab remarked, “Main ek bachcha hu film industry main, wo itne bade legend hai aur itne bade bade films kiyein aur hum bachpan se unka kaam dekhte aayein hai… I can hardly accept the praise.” His humility reflects his respect for established figures in the industry.
Rishab elaborated that Varma called him enthusiastically after viewing the film, saying, “After watching the film, he called me. Honestly, we owe our place in the industry to legends like him. I don’t think about competition or records; such things don’t occupy my mind.”
