Star Awards 2025: Christopher Lee Celebrates Win and Son Zed’s Joy

Christopher Lee received an early birthday surprise by winning three prestigious awards at the Star Awards on July 6. The actor, who will turn 54 on July 23, was named Best Actor for his performance in the mystery drama “Kill Sera Sera,” Best Programme Host for the variety show “Dishing With Chris Lee 2,” and also earned the Special Achievement Award.

He shared that two of the awards took him completely by surprise.

In fact, he was so stunned that he paused before heading to the stage after his friend Mark Lee announced his name for Best Programme Host.

Backstage, still holding his trophies in disbelief, Lee expressed, “I’m really surprised and happy. I was very contented to just receive the Special Achievement Award. I didn’t expect to get Best Host and Best Actor too.”

With a history of accolades, including Best Host for the same show in 2023 and Best Actor in both 1997 and 2013, Lee’s collection of awards also features four Golden Bell Awards.

“Like my wife said, ‘What award can I win next year?’” he chuckled, referencing Fann Wong’s memorable quip from 1995. “It really feels like that.”

For those unfamiliar with the context, Wong had caused quite a stir as a newcomer by saying those words after winning three awards herself.

While it’s uncertain if Wong enjoyed him bringing up her old phrase, their son Zed likely appreciated it.

“That’s because I mentioned his name twice on stage,” noted Lee, revealing that the “buddy Li Xi Quan” he thanked was indeed Zed.

Now that Lee has won the Best Host title twice, does he think Zed, who impressed many with his Mandarin skills, may want to follow in his father’s footsteps?

“His Chinese is good?” Lee laughed. “I’ll let him make his own choices. Perhaps he might in the future. I support whatever he decides, as long as he enjoys it.”

As for celebrating these victories, Lee has business commitments in Taiwan right after the ceremony.

“Maybe a few days before or after my birthday, I’ll return and have a nice celebration with my family,” he indicated.
