Sonakshi Sinha is ready to make her Telugu debut with Jatadhara.

Sonakshi Sinha is stepping into Telugu cinema through *Jatadhara*, a supernatural thriller directed by Abhishek Jaiswal and Venkat Kalyan. The film features Sudheer Babu in the lead role, with Shilpa Shirodkar also playing a significant part. Known for her performances in *Dabangg*, *Lootera*, and *Akira*, Sinha will portray the antagonist Dhanapisachini in this bilingual release set for November 7.

Sonakshi Sinha shares her experience working in the Telugu industry

The actress expressed her anticipation for her role, saying, “The story immediately captured my interest. It’s dark, layered, and vastly different from my past projects.” Sinha shared her excitement about exploring regional cinema and collaborating with a new team and audience.

Reflecting on her experience, Sinha mentioned being drawn to the unique script: “I’ve acted in a Tamil film before (Lingaa), and now this Telugu film. I’ve always been receptive to regional cinema; it was just my schedule that didn’t allow it previously.”

Sonakshi praises the discipline of the Telugu film industry

In her comparison between the Hindi and Telugu film industries, Sinha highlighted the latter’s punctuality and structured environment. “There aren’t many differences, but they have a great sense of timing and organization. The work-life balance is commendable, and it’s something we could learn from,” she noted.

She emphasized the discipline on set, stating, “If the shoot starts at nine, it ends by six. That’s a refreshing approach. I would say it’s more disciplined compared to what I’m used to.” Sinha also pointed out that shoots in the Hindi industry often extend late into the night, which she feels could be improved.

Playing Dhanapisachini in Jatadhara

In *Jatadhara*, Sinha takes on a role significantly different from her previous characters. Centered around the enigmatic Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, the film merges mythology with supernatural themes. Sinha conveyed that director Venkat Kalyan granted her the freedom to explore her character creatively.

“When we filmed my first scene, I saw a childlike joy in his eyes. He exclaimed, ‘This is my Dhanapisachini!’” Sinha shared.

Looking ahead, she expressed her desire to continue venturing into various languages and genres. Recognized for her performances in both film and digital projects like *Dahaad* and *Heeramandi*, she remains focused on collaborating with visionary directors and engaging stories. *Jatadhara* is slated for release in both Telugu and Hindi on November 7.
