Ruel is gearing up to release his second album this year. The eagerly awaited album, Kicking My Feet, is scheduled to drop on Friday, October 17th, through Recess Records and Virgin Music Group.

Latest Single: "The Suburbs"

This announcement coincides with Ruel’s recently released single, “The Suburbs.” This dreamy pop track highlights the artist’s evolving style and creative direction.

“The Suburbs” is a noteworthy progression for Ruel, featuring an impressive lineup of collaborators. Notable names include Fran Hall, known for her work with Charli XCX and Kelly Clarkson, alongside M-Phazes, Chelsea Lena, and Elias Danielsen.

Themes and Collaborations

The song delves into themes of intimacy and the comforts of domestic life. Ruel paints a picture of a serene existence in a suburban setting with someone special.

Transition to a New Chapter

Kicking My Feet signifies Ruel’s move from Sydney to Los Angeles, along with his signing to Giant Music. The album’s creation was a laborious journey, with Ruel sharing that he wrote over 200 songs prior to finalizing the tracklist.

He teamed up with several esteemed producers for this project. Julian Bunetta, renowned for his work with artists like Sabrina Carpenter and One Direction, and Joel Little, who has collaborated with Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams, both contributed to the album.

Ruel’s Reflections

Ruel opened up about the vulnerability involved in his songwriting, stating, “It’s been pretty daunting to offer up this level of honesty in my songwriting. But seeing the way it’s already connected so personally with fans has calmed my ‘pre-album’ nerves in a huge way.”
