Giorgio Armani Marks 50 Years with the Launch of Armani/Archivio

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Giorgio Armani, a fashion house founded in Milan on July 24, 1975. To celebrate this significant milestone, the designer is unveiling the Armani/Archivio project, which includes a fashion exhibition and show at the Pinacoteca di Brera, as announced recently.

Armani/Archivio is an innovative digital platform set to launch on Saturday, August 30, coinciding with the Venice Film Festival. It features an extensive collection of content, carefully curated from Giorgio Armani’s collections to preserve the brand’s rich history while looking forward to the future. A physical location for Armani/Archivio will also be established near Milan, according to Armani’s statement.

Armani Exhibition at Pinacoteca di Brera

The celebration continues during Milan Fashion Week. On Wednesday, September 24, Giorgio Armani will host a public exhibition at the Pinacoteca di Brera for the first time. This event will showcase one hundred and fifty archival looks from Giorgio Armani, illustrating the brand’s evolution over the decades and featuring a blend of fashion and art.

Fashion Show in Milan

The closing event of Milan Fashion Week on Sunday, September 28, will feature a showcase of the Giorgio Armani women’s SS26 collection in the historic courtyard of Palazzo Brera. The event will also include pieces from the latest Giorgio Armani men’s collection, which debuted in June.

In 2024, Giorgio Armani reported consolidated revenues of 2.3 billion euros, reflecting a 5 percent decline compared to the previous year when adjusted for constant exchange rates (6 percent drop at current rates). The company noted a 3 percent fall in direct retail revenues, attributed to temporary store closures for renovations, aligning with trends observed in the luxury fashion market.
