Vikrant Massey Shares Thoughts on the Insider vs Outsider Film Debate

Vikrant Massey Discusses the Insider vs Outsider Debate in Bollywood
Actor Vikrant Massey shares his perspective on the ongoing discussion surrounding ‘insiders’ and ‘outsiders’ in the film industry.
Actor Vikrant Massey recently addressed the long-standing debate about ‘insiders’ and ‘outsiders’ in Bollywood. He believes that this narrative is primarily fueled by social media conversations rather than genuine industry sentiment.
Vikrant’s Thoughts on the Film Industry
In a recent interview with Screen, Vikrant emphasized that the narrative is largely sustained by people outside the industry. He remarked that, within the film fraternity, the experiences and perspectives are often less divisive. “Ye sab social media ki baatein hai. Ye wahi log karte hai jo baahar baithe hai (This is only social media chatter. It is only those who are not part of the film industry that engage in it),” said the actor, known for his role in **12 Fail**.
Vikrant has transitioned from television to noteworthy films like **A Death in the Gunj**, **Chhapaak**, and **12th Fail**. Despite lacking a film legacy, he has successfully made his mark in the industry.
“If you’re a part of our fraternity, it doesn’t appear that way. Most of us don’t perceive it like that. As the so-called outsider, I’d say this is nonsense fabricated by social media,” he added.
Upcoming Film: Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan
Vikrant will next appear in **Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan**, which stars him alongside Shanaya Kapoor in her Bollywood debut. Directed by Santosh Singh and penned by Mansi Bagla, the film is produced by Zee Studios and Mini Films. The trailer was released recently, showcasing Vikrant as a visually impaired character who embarks on a unique romantic journey with a theater artist, choosing to experience the world while blindfolded. The film’s theatrical release is set for July 11.
