Vance Joy Unveils New Single "Divine Feelings" – Release Details Inside

Vance Joy’s Return with "Divine Feelings"

Vance Joy is making a noteworthy return with his new single, “Divine Feelings.” This track serves as the first half of a double A-side release titled Divine Feelings/Fascination in the Dark, set to be unveiled this October.

A Journey of Connection

This release marks Joy’s first solo endeavor since his 2022 album, In Our Own Sweet Time. He has also collaborated recently with Noah Cyrus on “Everybody Needs Somebody” and Shouse on “Wherever You Are.”

“Divine Feelings” explores the magic of meeting someone significant and captures the fleeting exhilaration of a deep connection. For Joy, this theme resonated personally, as he met his future wife in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter back in 2019.

Collaborating in Barcelona

To breathe life into this track, Joy teamed up with his longtime collaborator, Dave Bassett, in Barcelona. Their goal was to encapsulate that euphoric feeling through music, and together, they created a song that is both emotional and grand.

A Modern Ode: The Music Video

The song’s music video, directed by Bill ‘W.A.M’ Bleakley, tells a story reminiscent of a contemporary Australian Bonnie and Clyde. It features actors Erana James and Tom Wilson, who navigate the outback of Australia while showcasing their undeniable chemistry.

Bleakley shared insights about their filming locations in Mount Isa and Cloncurry, noting that the areas provided an ideal backdrop with a summer vibe. He remarked, “Generally, not much filming happens in either of these towns, so we were a bit of a novelty and locals really embraced us.”

Embracing the Creative Process

He also commented on the ease of working with talented actors like James and Wilson, who brought the characters to life and were open to improvisation. This collaborative spirit made the creative process enjoyable and fluid.
