Australian actor Julian McMahon, renowned for his roles in Marvel’s *Fantastic Four*, as well as *FBI: Most Wanted* and *Nip/Tuck*, has died at the age of 56.

According to a statement from his wife, Kelly McMahon, he passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday. Julian had been privately fighting cancer.

In her heartfelt message, Kelly shared, “With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.” She added, “Julian loved life, his family, friends, work, and his fans.” She also mentioned that his greatest wish was to bring joy to many lives.

Career Highlights

Julian McMahon was also known in Australia for his role as Ben Lucini in the soap opera *Home and Away*.

He starred in the US series *Charmed* and *Profiler*, earning a Golden Globe nomination for his outstanding performance in *Nip/Tuck*.

His film credits include the 2018 Australian comedy *Swinging Safari*, where he appeared alongside Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce.

His recent work featured the mystery miniseries *The Residence*, which aired on Netflix earlier this year, as well as the Stan Original series *The Surfer*, co-starring Nicolas Cage, released in May.

Julian’s Family Background

Julian was the son of Sir William McMahon, who served as Australia’s 20th prime minister when Julian was just two years old. His mother, Lady Sonia McMahon, was an heiress and a prominent socialite.
