Before her philanthropic and business ventures, Tina Ambani was a prominent actress in the late 1970s and 1980s Bollywood. She made her acting debut in Des Pardes (1978) alongside Dev Anand and starred in various notable films such as Karz (1980) and Souten (1983).

Her expressive performances and natural elegance made her a favorite among audiences. Tina stepped away from the film industry in the early 1990s, with her last appearance in Jigarwala (1991), alongside Anil Kapoor.

On February 2, 1991, Tina married Anil Ambani, son of the late Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of Reliance Industries. They have two sons, Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul, with the former recently marrying Khrisha Shah.
