Shilpa Rao advocates for daily hard work in the pursuit of musical success.

During a program honoring her achievements, Rao received the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in the hit song ‘Chaleya’ from the film Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan.

“One can’t expect to achieve success by simply putting out one or two songs; it requires daily effort,” she stated decisively.

Rao credited her journey to the strong support system she received from her family, friends, and educational institutions, as well as media opportunities that paved her path to stardom.

“A song’s success isn’t defined by controversy but rather by three vital elements: meticulous preparation, quality lyrics, and coherent execution,” she articulated.

Giving a shoutout to the creative team behind ‘Chaleya’, she expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort, praising music directors Vishal-Shekhar, director Siddharth Anand, and the film’s stars for their roles in the song’s success.

When considering the impact of Artificial Intelligence in music, Rao maintained a positive outlook. “Technology, including AI, can enhance the creative process by making production more efficient while keeping human contributions intact,” she noted.

Although Rao felt she couldn’t provide a magic formula for becoming a successful singer, she expressed her willingness to assist aspiring talents in developing their singing abilities.

“I commit to songs only within my vocal range,” she highlighted, sharing insights into her selection process for musical projects.
