Satish Shah, a beloved figure in Indian cinema, sadly passed away at the age of 74 due to kidney failure. His sudden passing has resonated deeply within the industry and among his fans, bringing to light his final social media tribute to the legendary Shammi Kapoor.

Final Tribute on Social Media

Just a day before his departure on October 24, Satish shared an emotional post on X (formerly Twitter) to honor Shammi Kapoor on his birthday. He posted a nostalgic photograph of himself and Govinda with the late actor. His heartfelt message read: “Happy B’day dearest Shammi ji. You are always around for me.”

Confirmation of Passing

The news of Satish’s demise was confirmed by his close friend and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who expressed his sorrow through a post that included a photo and video message. He wrote, “Sad and shocked to inform you that our dear friend and a great actor Satish Shah has expired a few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Om Shanti.”

JD Majethia, creator of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, shared that Satish had struggled with his health in the months leading to his death, having undergone a kidney transplant, which later resulted in an infection.

Over a career that spanned more than forty years, Satish Shah became renowned for his versatile performances. He was especially celebrated for his roles in iconic TV shows like Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Filmy Chakkar, and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, where his character Indravadan Sarabhai is still fondly remembered.

His Bollywood debut occurred with a minor role in the 1970 film Bhagwan Parshuram, but he later gained fame through notable films such as Umrao Jaan and the cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. Throughout his impressive career, he acted in several blockbuster films including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, and Fanaa.
