Sanjay Dutt’s Outburst After 9-Hour Wait on Jodi No 1 Set
Rajat Bedi discusses Govinda’s infamous tardiness during Jodi No. 1 filming.
In the vibrant world of Bollywood, Govinda was a reigning star throughout the 1990s. However, as time passed, many have recounted incidents highlighting his frequent late arrivals on set. Recently, his co-star from *Jodi No. 1*, Rajat Bedi, shared a memorable experience where Sanjay Dutt was left waiting for an astounding nine hours during a shoot.
When Govinda Delayed Sanjay Dutt for 9 Hours
Reflecting on his time working with Govinda, Bedi acknowledged him as a fantastic person but noted a significant issue—his chronic lateness. Bedi recounted, “We were all set to start filming at 7 AM, yet Sanjay and I decided to arrive by 6 AM. We found ourselves twiddling our thumbs as Govinda was still at home. A crew member was dispatched to fetch him, but by 2 PM, Dutt was understandably frustrated.”
Bedi further explained how they ultimately learned that Govinda was in transit from Hyderabad, arriving at the set just after 3 PM. “Back then, tracking Govinda’s whereabouts was quite the challenge,” he noted. Once he finally arrived, Dutt, irritated by the enormous wait, began to vent his frustrations, stating, ‘These lines should be for Govinda, not me.’ The script ended up changing entirely then and there. To everyone’s surprise, Govinda finished filming his scenes in a mere two hours.”
