Actor Rhea Chakraborty has expressed her feelings after receiving her Indian passport back after a five-year wait. Her passport was confiscated by law enforcement agencies in connection with the 2020 drug case associated with her late partner, Sushant Singh Rajput. Following a recent ruling by the Bombay High Court, Rhea was finally able to reclaim her passport.
On Friday, Rhea took to Instagram to post a photo of her passport with the caption, “Patience was my only passport for the past 5 years. Countless battles. Endless hope. Today, I hold my passport again. Ready for my Chapter 2! ✈️🙏 Satyameva Jayate.”
In response to Rhea’s post, several celebrities like Fatima Sana Shaikh and Elvish Yadav commented with “Finally.” Fans also shared supportive messages, expressing their happiness for her. One user noted, “No amount of apology will suffice for what she has gone through. More power to you.” Others celebrated her resilience, wishing her well in this new chapter of her life.
For context, Rhea was arrested by the NCB on September 8, 2020, alongside her brother and others for allegations involving drug financing for Sushant’s consumption. The fallout from this case sparked a massive investigation into drug use within the film industry. In October 2020, Rhea was granted bail, but under the condition that her passport remained with the NCB.
