Rashmika Mandanna Stands Out as Flexible Actor Amid Industry Controversy
Producer SKN discusses Rashmika Mandanna’s work ethic at the launch of her new film, The Girlfriend.
Recent developments surrounding Deepika Padukone‘s departure from two notable projects—Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD sequel—has brought about discussions regarding work conditions in the film industry. At the launch event for Rashmika Mandanna’s upcoming Telugu film, The Girlfriend, producer SKN remarked that Rashmika is the only actress without issues over work schedules.
Praise from SKN
As SKN addressed the audience, he highlighted Rashmika’s willingness to work without strict hour limitations. He remarked, “In an era where we’re questioning work hours, there’s only one heroine who’s ready to put in as many hours as required.”
He further expressed, “Rashmika approaches her work with passion, not through the lens of time constraints. This mindset is why she feels like family to everyone involved.” Rashmika reacted with a warm smile, clearly touched by the compliment.
Deepika’s Perspective on Work Hours
Reports suggest that Deepika left both Spirit and Kalki 2898 AD due to requests for an 8-hour workday. She discussed this situation in a CNBC-TV18 interview, defending her stance by stating: “If being assertive is perceived negatively, that’s the price I pay.”
Deepika noted that several male stars have worked 8-hour shifts for years without the same scrutiny. She also criticized the film industry’s disorganization, stating that despite its title, it often lacks structure.
Rashmika’s Upcoming Projects
This year looks promising for Rashmika Mandanna. She has appeared in films like Chhaava, Sikandar, and Thamma in Hindi, along with Kuberaa in both Telugu and Tamil. Upcoming, she stars in The Girlfriend, set for release in theaters on November 7, as well as Cocktail 2 and Mysaa.
Recently, she was also in the headlines for her engagement to Vijay Deverakonda, which took place earlier this month, with plans for their wedding in February next year.
