Rajat Bedi Reflects on Koi Mil Gaya: Struggles with His Lines vs. Hrithik

Rajat Bedi reflects on his role in Koi Mil Gaya, expressing regret over not fully embracing a pivotal scene.

Hrithik Roshan’s *Koi Mil Gaya* remains a landmark in Bollywood’s sci-fi genre, and for Rajat Bedi, it stands as a significant role in his career. Although his portrayal of the antagonist was memorable, it didn’t lead to numerous opportunities afterward. Ultimately, Rajat transitioned to Canada, exploring the real estate industry.

Despite initial disappointments in his career, Rajat said he has found growth and maturity as an actor through life experiences and a recent project with Aryan Khan.

Rajat talks about his experience during Koi Mil Gaya

Previously, Rajat expressed disappointment about being excluded from promotional campaigns for *Koi Mil Gaya*. He felt sidelined during the film’s publicity, though he later clarified that there was no fallout with filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.

In an exclusive interview, he reflected on an incident from the film shoot that still affects him. “I wasn’t a mature actor back then. There was a scene that Rakesh ji wanted me to perform, where my lines could’ve overpowered Hrithik,” Rajat shared.

He continued, “I did several takes, and he asked me to try different ways of delivering my lines. Eventually, he approved the shot, but that episode still weighs on me. He later told me, ‘Rajat, you know that scene was yours? You were supposed to own it!’ I felt heartbroken at that moment.”

Years later, Rajat reflects on how challenges, including career setbacks, have made him a more grounded actor. He believes his life experiences have enriched his ability to perform. He acknowledged co-star Raghav Juyal as a source of inspiration, noting that Raghav reminds him of the legendary Govinda.

Rajat’s latest work

Recently, Rajat returned to the screen with *The Ba***ds of Bollywood*, marking Aryan Khan’s directorial debut. He describes this role as transformative, portraying a once-prominent actor now struggling after 15 years without work— a storyline that resonates deeply with him.
