Acting couple Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi have recently welcomed their baby boy, Vaayuv Tej. They plan to celebrate his first Diwali in a special way at Chiranjeevi’s home. The couple expressed excitement about this milestone festival during a chat with Hyderabad Times.
In early October, Varun and Lavanya shared their joy about naming their son on social media. Lavanya revealed that they typically perform puja at their house before heading to Chiranjeevi’s place to celebrate Diwali with family. This year, however, feels unique as it’s their son’s first festival.

Family Traditions
Varun shared they usually gather around seven in the evening at Chiranjeevi’s house, spending the night with family. In previous years, they enjoyed bursting firecrackers but now, it’s the younger kids who take part, while the adults watch. “There’s plenty of good food, long conversations, and traditional outfits — for us, it’s all about being together,” Varun stated.

Varun also credited Chiranjeevi for keeping the family close. He noted that they often have Sunday get-togethers, a tradition that has lasted 30 years. “Our nanamma (grandmother) resides with Chiranjeevi garu, so we cherish that time together. It’s a blessing to have family gatherings and stay connected,” he shared.
Beginning of Their Love Story
Varun and Lavanya’s journey together began during the filming of “Mister” in 2017. Though they have not openly shared many details about their relationship, it’s known they started dating before marrying. They acted side by side again in “Antariksham 9000 KMPH” in 2018. The couple became engaged in June 2023 and married in Tuscany in November of that year, with their son being born shortly thereafter.
