Ozzy Osbourne and Judas Priest Set to Release ‘War Pigs’ Duet Soon

Judas Priest’s New Venture with Ozzy Osbourne
Judas Priest is currently in the process of securing permissions to unveil their official cover of Black Sabbath’s iconic track "War Pigs," featuring the legendary Ozzy Osbourne. In a recent episode of the Full Metal Jackie podcast, lead singer Rob Halford shared insights into their collaboration that took place before Osbourne’s passing in July.
The Collaboration Process
Halford described the unique duet dynamic, stating, “Ozzy’s singing a line and then I’m singing a line.” This marked a significant moment for Halford, who expressed profound gratitude for having the opportunity to collaborate with Osbourne, saying, “It was the first ever time in my entire life that I’ve been able to do a duet with Ozzy.”
How It Came Together
The collaboration was facilitated by Sharon Osbourne, who appreciated Judas Priest’s rendition of "War Pigs." She approached Halford with the idea, expressing her desire for Ozzy to participate. Halford recalled his excitement upon receiving the proposal, saying, “You’re asking me? This is gonna happen!”
Anticipation Builds
While Halford didn’t disclose specific dates for the recording or release, he hinted that “the green button’s almost ready to go” and that fans can expect it “pretty soon.” He raised expectations by declaring, “When you hear it, it’s just colossal,” indicating that the version with Osbourne is something truly special.
Remembering Ozzy Osbourne
Following the heart-wrenching loss of Osbourne, who passed away on July 22, Halford expressed his grief, saying he spent hours “curled up in a ball” in sorrow. Although there haven’t been any posthumous releases from Osbourne yet, fans did get a brief glimpse of him in the finale of Lego Masters Jr., hosted by his daughter, Kelly Osbourne.
