My Chemical Romance Unveils New Track “War Beneath the Rain”

## My Chemical Romance Delivers a Nostalgic Surprise
My Chemical Romance recently unearthed a special treat from their reserves of unreleased music during a live performance at Dodger Stadium. On July 26, 2023, fans were thrilled as the band debuted “War Beneath the Rain,” a track that originated before their 2013 breakup.
### A Tribute to a Friend
Gerard Way, the band’s frontman, shared insights with the crowd, explaining the song’s background. “We were crafting a record that never came to fruition, but this was always one of our favorites,” he said. He acknowledged their engineer and friend Doug McKean, who played a vital role in recording this track. McKean, whose family was in attendance, passed away in July 2022 at just 54 years old.
### Reflecting on Their Journey
It has been 15 years since MCR last released a full studio album, with their last one being *Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys* in 2010. The band officially announced their split on March 22, 2013, while they were in the midst of recording a fifth album, initially titled *The Paper Kingdom*.
In May 2022, the group blessed fans with a new single, “The Foundations of Decay,” marking their first fresh material in nearly a decade. Alongside McKean and Ray Toro, Way produced the track. The July 26 concert also featured the tour debut of “Destroya,” increasing the excitement among their supporters.
### Upcoming Tour Dates
My Chemical Romance’s Long Live The Black Parade Tour is set to continue on August 2, with a performance planned in Arlington, Texas. The band will visit several cities, including East Rutherford, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago, Boston, and Tampa through September.
