A BRAN NEW BOOST

Muji’s new Booster series features an essence lotion and serum that place rice bran at the forefront. This nutrient-rich outer layer serves not only as inspiration but also as the fundamental ingredient in these products.

The collection is composed of 100% naturally derived components, meticulously developed through extensive research. The fermented rice bran extract, sourced from Japan’s Yamagata prefecture, is rich in seven vitamins and eight minerals, combined with soft, slightly alkaline spring water from Kamaishi, Iwate. This unique water, filtered through bedrock over decades, is known for its purity and close pH levels to human tears, facilitating easy absorption by the skin.

Instead of discarding the husk, Muji ferments it to utilize its moisturizing benefits. This results in a gentle yet effective formula suitable for all skin types, rigorously tested to ensure it is free from alcohol, synthetic fragrances, colorants, mineral oils, parabens, and phenoxyethanols.

The boosters serve as a preparatory step before applying toning water, designed to soften skin and improve absorption. The Booster Essence Lotion (S$5.90 for 50ml; S$16.90 for 300ml) is a lightweight liquid featuring rice bran extract and ceramides.
