The montage features clips of her singing a cappella as the background music, creating a nostalgic vibe. The video concludes with an empty box that suggests the potential cover for MC16, accompanied by the text “MC16.”

On X, she added a caption that reads, “MC16 – Announcement Tomorrow.” In her Instagram stories, she posted a similar montage with a countdown ticker reading “19:06:42,” building even more anticipation.

In the meantime, Carey has given fans a taste of her forthcoming work. During a recent event with Zane Lowe and Ebro Darden to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Apple Music, Carey confirmed that her new album is finished. “Well, it’s the album coming out,” she mentioned, sounding a bit reserved. “I don’t want to tell too much about it, because I just don’t want to reveal the whole thing, you know?”

Last month, Carey released a new single titled “Type Dangerous,” along with its music video. Prior to the release, she teased the album on social media, sharing clips where she’s seen listening to a mysterious track named “T:D_MC16.mp3,” and even hinted at her car’s license plate reading: MC16.
