Lana Del Rey Sings Neil Young's 'The Needle and the Damage Done' Live at Harvest Moon Concert

Lana Del Rey graced the stage on Saturday at Neil Young’s charity concert, known as the “Harvest Moon” event. She kicked off her performance with a heartfelt cover of Young’s classic, “The Needle and the Damage Done.”

As she stepped onto the stage at Lake Hughes, California’s Painted Turtle Summer Camp, Del Rey remarked, “I thought we’d get started with a little bit of Neil.” Her band joined her for a passionate rendition of the beloved song.

The setlist also featured several of Del Rey’s own songs, including “Arcadia,” “Video Games,” “Summertime Sadness,” and “Norman Fucking Rockwell.” Notably, she delivered her first solo performance of “Let the Light In,” which was a special moment for fans.

This performance marked Del Rey’s final scheduled event of the year, making it particularly memorable. Though she has confirmed her live itinerary for 2025, there’s always the possibility she might surprise audiences with impromptu appearances. It’s worth noting that her upcoming country-inspired album has been postponed to 2026.

In addition to Del Rey, this year’s Harvest Moon concert showcased performances from notable artists like Beck, John Mayer, and Neil Young with Chrome Hearts. The proceeds from the event will support the Painted Turtle, a summer camp for children facing serious medical challenges, as well as the Bridge School, which provides education for children with speech and physical disabilities.
