Karan Johar Shares Aspirations for Kids Yash and Roohi as Future Artists

Karan Johar has shared his views on the star industry and his hopes for his children, Yash and Roohi.
Insight into Karan Johar’s Parenting Choices
Renowned Bollywood director Karan Johar has made a name for himself in the industry by launching iconic stars like Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Recently, during a chat with Komal Nahta on his YouTube platform, he expressed a unique desire for his children. Rather than wanting them to follow in his acting footsteps, he hopes they will embrace careers as makeup and hair artists.
Why Choose Makeup and Hair Artistry?
Karan elaborated that his perspective on the star system is rooted in ethical concerns rather than financial ones. He remarked, “I find the fees charged by makeup artists excessive. I encourage Yash and Roohi to pursue this path, noting that they can earn abundantly in the profession. One could focus on hair, while the other concentrates on makeup—it could be mutually advantageous.”
Johar also discussed his reservations about celebrity entourages, stating, “I maintain a budget for this because we’re business-minded. If clients desire more assistance, they need to allocate their funds. In cases where on-screen presence is paramount, like sports biopics, producers will cover the costs.”
Having welcomed his children through surrogacy, Karan embraced single parenthood in 2017. He frequently shares playful moments with Yash and Roohi on social media, showcasing their amusing antics. From teasing him about his selfies to Yash sporting a “nepo kid” shirt, their playful dynamic resonates with a broad audience.
Karan Johar’s Current Projects
Karan’s latest endeavor is the film “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” which hit theaters on October 3. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the movie features Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sanya Malhotra in significant roles. The film has received a mixed reception, managing to accumulate ₹14.75 crore in India amidst stiff competition from Rishab Shetty’s successful venture, “Kantara Chapter 1.”
What do you think about Karan Johar’s hopes for his children? Would you support such unique career aspirations?
