Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit’s 100 Days to be Revived as a Web Show
A modern adaptation of the 1991 psychological thriller, 100 Days, is in the works.
Over 30 years after its release, Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit’s psychological thriller, 100 Days (1991), is set for a digital revival. The original producer, Jay Mehta, is transforming this classic into a web series, featuring Abhishek Kumaarr and Srishti Singh in lead roles.
100 Days Web Series Will Be Fast-Paced
Sources confirm that the shooting is nearing completion, with a release anticipated by the end of the year. This adaptation is set to stream on Amazon MX Player’s platform, MX Fatafat, formatted as a micro-drama.
A project insider noted, “To suit modern viewing preferences, the storyline has been restructured. The aim is to engage today’s audience while maintaining the original’s mystery and intensity.”
Jay Mehta also discussed the revival, stating, “The new version of 100 Days focuses on premonitions, reimagined for the web with a twist that resonates with current viewers.”
Lead actor Abhishek Kumaarr, who was not born at the time of the original’s release, expressed his excitement about participating in the remake. He mentioned, “This thrilling story is designed for rapid pacing. Current audiences prefer swift transitions, so the storytelling has been sharpened without losing the original’s essence.”
About 100 Days
The original 100 Days was a remake of the 1984 Tamil film Nooravathu Naal, which drew inspiration from the 1977 Italian film Sette Note in Nero (The Psychic) and the Hollywood thriller Eyes of Laura Mars. It followed a woman tormented by the visions of a murder, ultimately leading her to unveil shocking truths—a captivating premise that continues to resonate with audiences even decades later.
