Kaantha: Dulquer Salmaan’s New Film Set to Premiere in November
Kaantha release date: Directed by Selvamani Selvaraj and produced by Dulquer Salmaan and Rana Daggubati, the period drama is gearing up for its release.
Director Selvamani Selvaraj’s highly anticipated film, Kaantha, has officially set its release date. The film stars notable actors Dulquer Salmaan, Samuthirakani, and Bhagyashri Borse. Initially, the film’s release was pushed back to accommodate Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra.
Kaantha to debut in theatres this November
The Kaantha team has shared their Diwali greetings while announcing the film’s release date. A new retro-style poster featuring Dulquer, Samuthirakani, and Bhagyashri was revealed, confirming the film’s release on November 14.
“Diwali just got a whole lot more explosive! #Kaantha will be lighting up theatres worldwide from NOVEMBER 14th! Wishing you all a happy Diwali, and we’ll see you in the theatres soon. A @SpiritMediaIN and @DQsWayfarerFilm production,” the team noted in their announcement.
About Kaantha
Kaantha, directed by Selvamani, is being produced by Dulquer, Rana Daggubati, Prashanth Potluri, and Jom Varghese under Spirit Media Pvt. Ltd. and Wayfarer Films Pvt. Ltd. This Tamil-Telugu bilingual is set in the backdrop of 1950s Madras, exploring the world of cinema.
The film’s teaser was unveiled on Dulquer’s birthday in July, offering a glimpse into a story revolving around complex relationships between a mentor and his mentee, portrayed by Samuthirakani and Dulquer, respectively. It follows the making of a horror film titled Saantha, with dramatic tensions altering both the film’s narrative and the lives of its characters. The teaser generated considerable excitement among audiences.
Music for Kaantha is composed by Jhanu Chanthar, with cinematography handled by Dani Sanchez Lopez. Art direction is overseen by Ramalingam, while the screenplay was enriched by Thamizh Prabha. Editing is managed by Lewellyn Anthony Gonsalves.
Recently, Dulquer produced and made a cameo appearance in the Malayalam film Kalyani Priyadarshini, starring alongside Naslen and involved in the film Lokah. Besides Kaantha, he is set to appear in Aakasamlo Oka Tara in Telugu and I’m Game in Malayalam.
