K-Pop Demon Hunters Make Surprise Debut in ‘SNL’ Sketch Performance

Saturday Night Live recently took a humorous swing at the cultural sensation known as KPop Demon Hunters, featuring a cameo by the three vocalists behind the animated movie’s chart-topping tracks.

The Brunch Sketch with Bad Bunny

The sketch centers around four friends, including host Bad Bunny, as they discuss the film over brunch at a trendy eatery. Bad Bunny’s character comically reveals his obsession with KPop Demon Hunters, claiming he watches it repeatedly, even though he doesn’t have children.

Bad Bunny’s Passion for K-Pop

“It’s actually not for kids. It’s for smart adults,” declares Bad Bunny’s character Thomas during a conversation about the film. As the talk shifts to the music, Thomas emphasizes his obsession with KPop Demon Hunters, stating, “In KPop Demon Hunters, songs are not just songs. They are weapons. What else is gonna save you from demons, you idiot.”

A Surprise Entrance

As the sketch unfolds, Bowen Yang makes an unexpected appearance as one of the film’s demons, taking over Sarah Sherman by belting out the catchy tune “Soda Pop.” Fortunately, the trio known as Huntr/x — featuring EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna, who lend their voices to the K-pop group in the movie — are also dining at the restaurant. They defeat the demon with their hit song, “Golden.”

First Performance Together

This surprise appearance marked Huntr/x’s debut performance, albeit a brief one. However, fans can look forward to their first full set as they are scheduled to appear on The Tonight Show this Tuesday.
