Halsey Responds Strongly to Fan Who Urged Her to ‘Just Play’

Halsey Responds Strongly to Fan Who Urged Her to 'Just Play'

## Halsey Addresses Audience During Performance

Musicians should be free to express themselves. After spending a night in the emergency room, Halsey took the stage for her second performance at Boston’s MGM Music Hall. During her set, a male audience member yelled, “Stop talking and play,” prompting a strong response from the singer.

### Halsey’s Assertive Reply

“Do you think you’re tough because you’re from Boston?” she fired back. “I’m from Jersey, baby. I’ll whoop your ass. My dad’s from Boston, my mom’s from Jersey—that basically makes me a fucking demon. I’m going to play whatever the hell I want. Just so we’re clear, I nearly died to perform for you tonight.” Halsey made it clear that nobody, especially not a man, would dictate her performance.

Later on X, Halsey commented, “I’ve been polite but won’t be caught dead letting a man tell me what I should play in my set.” She added, “There’s always one.”

### Health Update from Halsey

Just a day prior, Halsey informed her fans about her health condition, revealing she had a minor medical emergency. She shared this update on Instagram Stories, stating she had been in the emergency room after her first show in Boston but was now “A-Okay and ready to rock tonight!”

While she didn’t specify the cause of her hospital visit, Halsey has been undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with lupus and a rare T-Cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022. She expressed her gratitude towards the doctors and nurses at Mass General, calling them “the absolute best team I’ve ever met.”
