Free Concerts at Fed Square: Enjoy King Gizzard and More!

Big names are set to light up Melbourne in the coming months, thanks to Fed Square Presents.

On Friday, October 24th, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard will bring their unique sound to Fed Square with an entirely electronic rave set. This marks the band’s return to Australia after a two-year hiatus, and they’re ready to debut their techno version at home.

This performance signifies a bold step for the genre-blending band as they embrace live, spontaneous electronic music using eurorack-modular synthesis equipment. This evolution aligns with their ethos of ambitious improvisation, exploring new sonic landscapes that have been in the works for years.

Opening for King Gizzard will be Merve, a Berlin-based DJ and producer originally from Melbourne. Merve’s innovative sets have captivated audiences from venues like Panorama Bar to Boiler Room events worldwide.

Upcoming Events at Fed Square

Another exciting lineup is coming on Thursday, November 27th, featuring Detroit icon Moodymann and Melbourne’s own DJ JNETT. This pairing promises to deliver an unforgettable evening of music.

Fed Square’s recent announcements highlight its emerging status as Melbourne’s top choice for accessible live performances. It’s a vibrant cultural hub that continues to attract large crowds.

To close out the year, Fed Square will host a New Year’s Eve celebration on Wednesday, December 31st. Curated by local favourite Barry Sunset, the night will feature three talented Melbourne DJs—MzRizk, Gavin Campbell, and Barry Sunset himself—offering a mix of disco, funk, house, and dance classics leading up to a spectacular midnight countdown with stunning views of the skyline.
