First Look at Operation Safed Sagar

On Sunday, Netflix took to Instagram and YouTube to launch the first-look video of Operation Safed Sagar. The video features Siddharth stating, “No squadron in the history of the Indian Air Force has ever attempted such a mission. We are the chosen few.” It also showcases Siddharth and Jimmy approaching their aircraft alongside their team, which includes Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, and Taaruk Raina.

The video continues with Jimmy briefing the team, declaring, “The Pakistanis think they can do anything from above, but they are mistaken. We will make history or become a part of it.”

Netflix accompanied the video with a post stating, “The world’s highest air operation in history. The highest honour. Watch Operation Safed Sagar, coming soon, only on Netflix.” The exact premiere date is yet to be announced.

The series chronicles the essential role played by the Indian Air Force during the Kargil War. Created by Abhijeet Singh Parmar and Kushal Srivastava and directed by Oni Sen, the series stars Siddharth, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Verma, Mihir Ahuja, Taaruk Raina, and Arnav Bhasin, among others.

Produced by Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films, in collaboration with the Indian Air Force, Operation Safed Sagar delves into a lesser-known aspect of the Kargil War, inspired by true events. The plot centers on IAF pilots who push their limits to undertake a daring mission for their country. Filming took place at actual Indian Air Force bases, featuring MiG aircraft and real IAF personnel. Operation Safed Sagar is set to stream on Netflix in 2026.
