Eleanor Lee Stars in New Chinese Drama Following Wuxia Series Premiere

Eleanor Lee is making a significant return to the screen. Recently, it was announced that the 25-year-old actress from Singapore, currently residing in China, has landed a role in Mango TV’s new drama, Da Xiao Ye Sheng Huo, which translates to “Laughing Nightlife.”
This announcement follows closely on the heels of the premiere of her wuxia series, Go To The Mountains And Sea, also known as The Journey Of Legend.
Filming for Da Xiao Ye Sheng Huo commenced on August 29, featuring a lighthearted opening ceremony. This drama is expected to delve into campus life at a night school and is directed by Ye Changqing, known for the acclaimed series iPartment 3. The lead cast includes Chinese stars Lou Yixiao, Chen Bohao, and Zhang Ji Jun.
Eleanor Lee is featured as a “special guest performer,” portraying the role of Ouyang Lu, who is characterized as cool and aloof. The actress, also the daughter of renowned host Quan Yifeng, took to her social media to share her excitement about the project.
She expressed, “Night school buddy Ouyang Lu reporting in! A quirky adventure in Shanghai, ready to kick things off with laughter together!”
This marks Lee’s second project since a highly publicized controversy involving a leaked audio clip in which she allegedly insulted Mainland Chinese individuals. Following this incident, her former assistant admitted that the audio was fabricated and expressed regret after Lee filed a police report.
The assistant faced legal consequences, including an order to compensate Lee for emotional distress and associated costs. Despite the shadow cast over her reputation, Lee managed to secure her role in Go To The Mountains And Sea, putting speculation about her being replaced by AI to rest.
