The film *Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat* is making waves at the box office by inching towards the ₹50 crore milestone, surpassing the total earnings of Karan Johar’s *Dhadak 2*.

Box Office Collection Update

*Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat*, directed by Milap Zaveri, is a romantic drama featuring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa. This film has surprisingly captivated audiences during Diwali. It opened with a net collection of ₹9 crore in India on Diwali and has continued to perform well throughout the week.

The film maintained momentum even during the workweek after the festival. By the following Saturday, it earned ₹5.75 crore, bringing its five-day total to ₹34 crore net (approximately ₹42.50 crore gross). While *Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat* hasn’t made a significant mark internationally, it still managed to generate around $200,000 in the first five days abroad.

As of now, the worldwide gross stands at over ₹44 crore, making it a box office success considering its modest production budget of ₹25 crore.

Beating Dhadak 2’s Record

On Saturday, *Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat* surpassed the lifetime earnings of Dharma Productions’ *Dhadak 2*, which had garnered ₹33 crore earlier this year.

Harshvardhan Rane’s Message to the Audience

During a screening in Gujarat, Harshvardhan expressed gratitude towards the audience, saying, “This Diwali, you supported the films of two outsiders. Please enjoy both my film and Ayushmann Khurrana’s. Your support sends a strong message against nepotism in Bollywood.”

*Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat* premiered alongside Khurrana’s movie, which has also performed well, achieving over ₹100 crore globally.
