DZ Deathrays Unveil Upcoming Album Titled ‘Easing Out of Control’

Australian rock icons DZ Deathrays have announced an exciting new album, Easing Out of Control, which is set to drop in early 2026 alongside a national tour.

Releasing on January 16th, 2026, Easing Out of Control marks a progression for the trio as they continue to meld their explosive rock roots with more introspective and adventurous songwriting.

Initially planned as two distinct EPs, the record evolved into a cohesive and vibrant album that explores themes of nostalgia, present struggles, and the ambition to leave a meaningful legacy.

“This album oscillates between chaotic moments and softer, more delicate ones,” shared vocalist and guitarist Shane Parsons. “We aimed to incorporate elements of dance music while maintaining that quintessential DZ sound.”

Recorded over two sessions, the album features a guest appearance from Luke Henery of Violent Soho on bass, and was completed in the band’s own studios. This release pushes DZ Deathrays into fresh territory while retaining the exhilarating chaos and catharsis fans love.

The band has already unveiled the single “Real Love” from the upcoming album. Written largely on piano, the track delves into the deep emotions of new parenthood, unconditional love, and the unpredictable twists of modern life.

“Recording it was a challenge,” Parsons admitted. “I wanted it to feel genuine yet spontaneous, as if it just poured out. It’s definitely a different moment for us, but I believe it opens the door for our sound to explore new possibilities.”

This album follows their 2023 full-length release, R.I.F.F., and continues the band’s decade-long journey as a crucial force in Australian rock. Since their breakout debut, Bloodstreams, to the ambitious Positive Rising albums, DZ Deathrays have consistently shown their adaptability, headlining stages from The Tivoli to The Enmore, supporting the Foo Fighters, and featuring multiple times in triple j’s Hottest 100.

To celebrate the launch of Easing Out of Control, DZ Deathrays will hit the road for a series of headline shows across Australia in January and early February, bringing their electrifying live performance and new material to fans.
