Diane Keaton Puts $29M LA Home on Market Following Health Concerns
Diane Keaton lists beloved $29M LA home for sale months before death amid unexpected health decline
Diane Keaton, 79, has put her cherished “dream home” on the market, a residence she once envisioned as her permanent sanctuary.
In recent months, Diane Keaton’s health declined significantly, prompting her to list her beloved home for sale. This home, which she considered her “dream home,” was where she had planned to live indefinitely.
A friend of the Oscar-winning actress reflected, “Her decline was sudden and heartbreaking for everyone who knew her. It was particularly unexpected for someone with such a robust spirit.”
In her last months, Keaton kept her circle tight, sharing her situation only with family. Friends were largely unaware of the gravity of her health issues.
The five-bedroom estate was listed at $29 million
Her stunning five-bedroom, seven-bath estate in Los Angeles was valued at $29 million. Keaton invested eight years in renovating this brick home, chronicling the whole journey in her book, *The House That Pinterest Built*.
In her book, she expressed her early inspiration from *The Three Little Pigs*: “The third pig’s sturdy home was made of bricks. I always knew that I would live in a solid brick house one day.”
Keaton had a passion for architecture
Diane Keaton was known for her deep appreciation for architecture. “Homes have always fascinated me,” she shared in a 2017 interview with *Wine Spectator*. “The problem was that I could never find one perfect enough to stay in.” She later fondly remarked about her final home, saying, “This one felt just right, and that’s why I love it.”
Recently, neighbors observed that Keaton had stopped her regular walks in her Brentwood neighborhood, where she enjoyed taking her dog for strolls.
“She was a long-time resident of Brentwood and truly adored her community,” a source informed PEOPLE. “Just a few months ago, she was out with her dog daily, often donning a hat and her signature sunglasses, regardless of the weather.”
The source further commented, “She had a delightful personality, always engaging and humorous. Talking to her dog was something she did as if conversing with a friend. There was a certain vintage Hollywood charm about her—she was truly one of a kind.”
