Dhvani Bhanushali Embraces Tradition for Diwali

Singer Dhvani Bhanushali is excited about celebrating Diwali this year with a strong focus on her Gujarati heritage. She mentioned, “This year, our celebrations will include pujas at home and in the office. We’ll be visiting family and friends’ houses, just like we do annually. Our decor will be very traditional, with lights, diyas, and kandeels. We also celebrate Padwa (Varsha Pratipada) as New Year in a grand way. So, I’ll visit my grandparents’ home for blessings, enjoy time with cousins, and savor family moments.”

While Dhvani admits she doesn’t take on the cooking responsibilities during the festive season, she fully indulges in the delicious meals. “I avoid dieting for a week leading up to Diwali and throughout the celebrations. I feast on traditional sweets and home-cooked meals until I’m completely full. My plate is filled with Gujarati cuisine and a big scoop of ice cream,” she shares. “But come post-celebration, I’m back to burning those calories and getting fit. My talent lies in enjoying food rather than cooking, as my sister bakes wonderfully and my mom prepares amazing dishes.”

When asked about her favorite Diwali songs, she said, “I only want hardcore Bollywood tracks on my dance playlist. I think it’s time someone created the ultimate Bollywood Diwali playlist.”

Outfit Choices for the Celebrations

Dhvani shares about her outfit for the festivities, stating, “I prefer something simple yet elegant. I adore Indian handloom kurtas or suits, usually opting for lighter fabrics. This time, I might attempt wearing a traditional saree, but let’s see how it goes.”
