The Aftermath of Their Separation
Five months later, Clarkson filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Despite the challenges, including raising their two children together—River and Remington—they maintained a semblance of respect.
They finalized their divorce in March 2022, which Clarkson later described as traumatic. Blackstock was declared legally single in August 2021.

Brandon Blackstock’s Final Days
Despite the complexities of their relationship, Clarkson remained supportive during Blackstock’s battle with melanoma, a severe form of skin cancer. Blackstock’s health deteriorated until he entered hospice care.
