Akshay Kumar Asks CM Fadnavis About Oranges After Mango Query to PM Modi
The amusing exchange at a Mumbai event
What are your thoughts on the light-hearted approach taken by Akshay Kumar in these interviews?
During a recent event in Mumbai, actor Akshay Kumar engaged in a light-hearted dialogue with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, continuing his trend of asking politicians about their fruit preferences. This time, it was oranges, moving away from his previous mango question posed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kumar jokingly referenced his earlier interaction with PM Modi, where he inquired about the Prime Minister’s preference for mangoes. “It’s a beautiful day, marking 25 years of FICCI, and we have Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis with us, and this is only the second time I have interviewed someone,” he said.
When he turned to Fadnavis, his slip of the tongue joked, “You’re from Nagpur, famous for mangoes — oh, sorry, oranges.”
Kumar asked, “How do you prefer your oranges — sliced or juiced?”
Fadnavis replied with a unique method: “You cut the orange in half, sprinkle salt, and eat it just like a mango.”

Previously, Kumar interviewed PM Modi in 2019, where the conversation took a lighter turn, focusing on simpler aspects of life rather than politics.
In that earlier interview, Modi mentioned his modest beginnings and how he would enjoy mangoes fresh from the trees in Gujarat. Kumar’s goal has always been to explore relatable topics, rather than complex political strategies, as he later explained.
