Karisma Kapoor’s Kids Claim Will Fraud: Accuse Priya Sachdev of Demeaning Sunjay Kapur
Legal Controversy Over Sunjay Kapur’s Estate
Karisma Kapoor’s children, Kiaan and Samara, are currently involved in a legal dispute with their stepmother Priya Sachdev regarding the estate of their deceased father, Sunjay Kapur. This case was recently brought before the Delhi High Court, where serious allegations were made against Priya, who is also Sunjay’s widow.
Allegations of Forgery
In court, the children accused Priya Sachdev of forging their father’s will, claiming it unjustly excluded them from his estate. Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, who represents Kiaan and Samara, highlighted significant errors within the will. For instance, he pointed out that Kiaan’s name was misspelled and Samara’s address was incorrectly listed. Jethmalani questioned how a devoted father could make such glaring mistakes in a legal document intended to represent his wishes.
Claims of Impropriety
Karisma Kapoor is backing her children in this legal battle, despite not being a direct plaintiff. The legal counsel representing the children stated that the only person who could have arranged such a will would be Priya, as she stands to benefit from it. The assertion is that no one else had the motive to forge the document. The court proceedings are set to continue, and further evidence will be examined.
Background of the Case
Previously, during a hearing on October 9, Samara and Kiaan characterized Priya as “Cinderella’s evil stepmother,” further fueling tensions in the courtroom. A preliminary court ruling had allowed Priya to provide a sealed inventory of Sunjay’s assets, emphasizing the importance of confidentiality in the case.
Sunjay Kapur, who led Sona Comstar, a prominent automotive company, passed away in London in June due to a heart attack. He had been married to Karisma from 2003 until 2016, and later married Priya in 2017.
