Gap, the renowned American retailer, has introduced an exciting new collaboration with New York designer Sandy Liang. This unique collection draws inspiration from themes of “modern girlhood and self-expression.”

Set to launch on October 10, this limited-edition range for women and children captures a sense of nostalgia. It blends Gap’s classic styles with Liang’s distinct, feminine flair, giving a fresh twist to iconic pieces like bow-embellished denim and stylish outerwear.

Gap emphasizes that this collection is designed for “cross-generational appeal,” striking a perfect balance between playfulness and practicality.

The Gap x Sandy Liang collection is rooted in Liang’s childhood memories with Gap. It features playful elements and whimsical designs that aim to elevate everyday essentials into something truly special.

Denim is the focal point of the collection, showcasing versatile styles that intertwine Liang’s artistic vision with Gap’s timeless pieces. Highlights include a pleated denim miniskirt ($88), a vegan fur crop denim jacket ($128), and low-rise ’90s carpenter jeans ($108).

Additionally, favorite items like the heavyweight fleece have been reimagined by Liang, incorporating a new arch logo on the extra-heavyweight oversized hoodie ($118) and a stylish oversized bow hoodie ($108). The outerwear lineup features a reversible vegan leather sherpa jacket ($268), a vegan fur half-zip pullover ($198), and a trench coat ($228) adorned with Liang’s signature bow details.

The collection will also include online exclusives for babies and toddlers, featuring miniature matchbacks inspired by women’s fleece and outerwear styles. This aims to extend the collaboration’s reach across generations, with Liang’s son, Rainer, featured in the campaign.

Liang expressed her excitement for the partnership: “Growing up, Gap represented the height of fashion for me. It’s amazing to collaborate with a brand I cherished in my youth, which remains relevant today.

“‘Sandy’s Dream Closet’ reflects how wearing Gap made me feel as a child, envisioning who I could become as an adult. I aimed to take beloved items from my youth and reinterpret them through my lens today — honoring the styles that make Gap so timeless while celebrating girlhood in all its forms.”

The Gap x Sandy Liang collection will be available starting October 10, at 9 am ET on gap.com and in select Gap locations such as The Grove in Los Angeles, 2 Folsom in San Francisco, and Flatiron and Times Square in New York, along with Liang’s New York flagship store.
