90’s Star Deepshikha Shares How Salman Khan Supported Govinda’s Career

Actor Deepshikha has recently shared her heartfelt relationship with Bollywood icon Salman Khan. Recollecting fond moments from their collaboration on the 2007 film *Partner*, she affectionately referred to him as ‘pitthu’ and highlighted his kind-heartedness, especially towards co-star Govinda.
Reflecting on Salman Khan’s Kindness
In a podcast interview with *Hindi Rush*, Deepshikha emphasized, “Salman never made Govinda feel like his time as a star was over. That was truly Salman’s ‘baddapan’ (grandeur). He would listen to Govinda’s suggestions about how to approach scenes.”
Sharing a light-hearted memory, she mentioned that after expressing her enthusiasm for jet skiing, Salman arranged for one the very next day. “I call him ‘Pitthu’ because he was my emotional support during a challenging period in my life,” she continued. She recalled how he praised her for winning the Mrs. India title, lifting her spirits during tough times.
The Success of *Partner*
Directed by David Dhawan, *Partner* features a stellar cast including Salman Khan, Govinda, and Katrina Kaif. The movie was a massive hit, earning around ₹100.91 crore globally against a production budget of about ₹28 crore. It skillfully combined comedy and romance, reinvigorating Govinda’s career while solidifying Salman Khan’s stardom in the mid-2000s.
Current Projects
Deepshikha recently appeared in the TV series *Megha Barsenge*, and is set to star in the action crime drama *Bombay*, portraying the character Rekha. The film revolves around underworld activities in Mumbai.
On the other hand, Salman Khan is wrapping up *Battle of Galwan*, a war drama based on the 2020 clash between Indian and Chinese troops, inspired by the book *India’s Most Fearless 3*.
