## WILSN Unveils Her Upcoming Album *Bloom*

Melbourne artist WILSN, whose real name is Shannon Busch, has exciting news to share. She is set to release her second album, *Bloom*, on Friday, October 17th, under the Mushroom Music label. Accompanying this announcement is her new single “GIRL,” which WILSN affectionately describes as a tribute to female friendship.

### A Celebration of Friendship

WILSN explains, “‘GIRL’ is a love letter to the kind of friendship that runs deep, the ride or die kind. It’s about checking in, showing up, listening, and loving your friends through the chaos of life, even when words don’t come easy.”

The song’s foundation began with an enchanting instrumental piece from Frollen Music Library, a Melbourne production group. Featuring talented artists like Henry Jenkins, Darvid Thor, and Hudson Whitlock—each notable figures in the Melbourne soul and funk scenes—their collaborative spirit inspired WILSN’s melody and lyrics.

### Recording and Inspirations

*Bloom* was recorded live to tape at Hive Mind Recording in Brooklyn, New York, with contributions from producers Stephen Mowat (known for his work with Jessica Mauboy, Matt Corby, and Gretta Ray) and Billy Aukstik of Hive Mind. The album draws heavily from late-1960s soul music, a genre WILSN has always felt a deep connection to.

“This is how a WILSN record is supposed to sound,” she states. “Since childhood, I’ve been captivated by soul music—the emotion and stories woven into every note. I strive to create music that not only reflects my own experiences but also honors the voices that paved the way for me.”

### What’s Next for WILSN?

The single “GIRL” follows her recent releases “The Way” and “Keep Walkin’,” all of which will be included in *Bloom*.

On the performance front, WILSN is slated to take the stage at Rockwiz, Live At The Gardens in Melbourne on Friday, November 21st.
