Willie Nelson Spreads Holiday Cheer with New ‘Christmas Love Song’
Willie Nelson is embracing the holiday season early, much like Mariah Carey, by releasing his heartwarming new tune, “Christmas Love Song.” This festive ballad showcases the country icon’s signature style and is crafted in collaboration with his longtime friend and producer, Buddy Cannon.
The song is co-written by Bill Anderson, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, along with Bobby Tomberlin and Marv Green. Additionally, the track features the harmonica talents of Mickey Raphael, adding a rich texture to the melody.
“It ain’t a lot but every word of it’s true/It don’t sparkle or shine/But it’s one of a kind,” Nelson expresses in the song. “And I put my whole heart into this Christmas love song to you.” These heartfelt lyrics reflect the genuine sentiment behind the festive season.
In addition to this new release, Nelson is set to pay tribute to his late friend Merle Haggard with an album titled Workin’ Man: Willie Sings Merle. The project will feature eleven new renditions of Haggard’s timeless classics, including “Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down,” “Okie From Muskogee,” “Mama Tried,” and “Workin’ Man Blues.”
