Wheatus Marks Milestone Anniversary of Debut Album in Australia and NZ

Wheatus is gearing up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their iconic self-titled debut album in Australia and New Zealand next year.
The band plans to perform their entire debut record, including the beloved hit “Teenage Dirtbag.” This tour will mark their first live shows in New Zealand, making it a significant milestone for fans there.
Resurgence of “Teenage Dirtbag”
The enduring appeal of “Teenage Dirtbag” has surged in recent years. First released in 2000, the song has seen a remarkable revival, particularly through social media platforms. The viral “Teenage Dirtbag photos” trend on TikTok has garnered participation from over one million users, with appearances from stars like Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Jon Bon Jovi. The hashtag associated with the trend has surpassed two billion views, showcasing its undeniable impact.
This digital revival has also contributed to the song’s re-emergence on mainstream charts, as it re-entered the UK Top 40 in 2023. This renewed attention has allowed Wheatus to grace prestigious stages alongside artists like Alice Cooper and Paramore.
Recent Touring Success
Reflecting this momentum, Wheatus’s recent touring plans have been impressive. Their UK and Ireland tour in 2023 included 47 shows, followed by a notable appearance at Download UK 2024, reaching audiences of over 20,000. They’ve also toured extensively across the USA and UK with Bowling for Soup, enjoying sold-out performances that highlight their continued popularity.
During their upcoming tour, Wheatus will play their full debut album each night and invite fans to request deeper tracks from their extensive three-decade repertoire.
