Vishal Jethwa Shares His Ambition for a Sanjay Leela Bhansali Film
Vishal Jethwa on how Homebound ignited new beginnings for him this Diwali and Gujarati New Year, while sharing his dream of collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
As a proud Gujarati, Vishal Jethwa sees the festive season as a chance for new beginnings. Excited about his recent film, Homebound, he looks at the Gujarati New Year with hope and optimism. “This year’s Diwali and New Year symbolizes growth for me. It has been significant, seeing changes in my career and personal life. My confidence has taken a leap, and I plan to carry that into the next year,” he says.
Childhood Memories and Festivities
Reflecting on his childhood, Vishal reminisces about the thrill of celebrating festivals. “I can’t compare my youthful excitement to what I feel now. I loved bursting firecrackers and would save some for the next morning. Those early mornings with my mom, filled with laughter, are cherished memories,” he shares.
Fashion Inspirations
For Vishal, the festive season also meant a flair for fashion. He fondly recalls the influence of Hrithik Roshan during his childhood: “I loved getting new, colorful outfits. Hrithik’s styles in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai were iconic. I vividly remember insisting on a yellow pair of glasses that came with one of those outfits. Walking around in those made me feel like a star,” he laughs.
Though now he has access to top designers, he misses the innocence of his youth. “Today, despite wearing high-end designer clothes, I find myself longing for the simpler joys we had back in the day. That excitement was special, something that feels lost as we grow older,” he reflects.
Future Aspirations
As this Gujarati New Year approaches, Vishal expresses a heartfelt wish. “My dream is to land a leading role in one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films. This aspiration has been with me for a long time, and achieving it would make this New Year truly special. Homebound has opened many doors for me, not just in terms of my career but also in my personal growth.”
He concludes with a note on sustainability in his career: “Even if I don’t rise significantly, my main goal is to maintain my current level of success. Kareena Kapoor once said, ‘It’s easier to reach the top, but sustaining it is what truly matters,’ and I hold that close to my heart.”
