Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe Opens Up About His Four Strokes: ‘This One Hit Hard’

## Vince Neil’s Health Journey
Before Mötley Crüe launched their Las Vegas residency earlier this month, Vince Neil shared some concerning news. He revealed that the beginning of the residency was postponed because he suffered a stroke in December. Recently, Neil disclosed that he has experienced at least four strokes over the years, with the latest being particularly severe.
### The Impact of the Strokes
During an interview with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s *Trunk Nation*, Neil mentioned, “Two of them I didn’t even know I had. One of them was a mini stroke, and I just lost feeling in my hand.” His latest stroke left him struggling with mobility, requiring him to relearn how to walk.
Neil explained that the strokes left scars in his brain. “My left leg wouldn’t work, and my left arm wouldn’t work. I needed help just to get out of bed,” he shared. The process of regaining his strength was gradual, moving from a wheelchair to a cane, and eventually being able to walk on his own.
### Determination to Return
Despite his doctor’s doubts about returning to the stage, Neil was determined not to let his health setbacks define him. “I worked my butt off to get back in shape to go onstage,” he said. Although he had to cancel some shows due to his condition, he was committed to making a comeback.
In March, Neil announced that the band would delay their residency from March to September due to a vocal procedure. He emphasized that his health is his top priority so he can deliver the performances fans expect.
### The Road to Recovery
According to the *Las Vegas Review-Journal*, Neil underwent physical therapy for several months in Nashville before he was fit enough to rehearse. While his voice remained intact, “it takes a while to get your brain to start moving your legs,” he explained. He reports being around 95 percent back to where he was before his health challenges.
Mötley Crüe’s Las Vegas residency kicked off at Dolby Live at Park MGM earlier this month, with additional shows scheduled for September 26 and 27, and October 1 and 3.
