## Viktor & Rolf: Embracing Irony in Fashion
The renowned Dutch fashion designers Viktor & Rolf presented a striking collection featuring 15 pairs of black dresses. Each dress was intricately designed with pleats and layers of luxurious fabrics such as tulle and crinoline, evoking a sense of 19th-century elegance.
### The Concept Behind the Collection
What made this show particularly captivating was that each pair of dresses was identical, except one dress in each pair was adorned with (faux) feathers. Viktor Horsting elaborated on this concept to AFP, stating, “We wanted to illustrate that something can be both the same and different simultaneously. The feather symbolizes haute couture while also representing freedom.” This idea of transformation is a recurring theme in their work, but it felt particularly pronounced in this collection.
### Unique Accessories
The models showcased colorful feathered headpieces, either worn as individual embellishments or styled as crowns and hats. These stunning creations were designed by acclaimed English milliner Stephen Jones, who recently had a retrospective at the Parisian Fashion Museum.
