The first official promo video has finally debuted, showcasing a gritty action drama starring Silambarasan in a dual role—one as a middle-aged man on trial for three murders, and the other as a young man navigating life after committing a murder.

The promo, which was shared by composer Anirudh on his YouTube channel, begins with Simbu’s character addressing the camera. He reveals he’s being filmed by filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar, who makes a cameo as himself. During his court appearance, he questions who is portraying him on screen and suggests that Dhanush should play the role, a nod to Dhanush’s past collaboration with Vetrimaaran in multiple films, including Vada Chennai.
A gritty tale of revenge
The scene transitions to Simbu, portraying a blood-soaked figure walking along railway tracks, his expression intense. As he sits down to collect his thoughts by a tap, he hears voices calling out, urging him not to flee. He stands ready, unafraid, weapon in hand.
The promo concludes with the intriguing line, “An untold tale from the world of Vada Chennai.” For those unfamiliar, the 2018 film Vada Chennai narrates the saga of a carrom player who becomes embroiled in the criminal world, marking one of the standout films in Dhanush’s career. Vetrimaaran has indicated that there are more stories set in this universe.
