Vaani Kapoor Shares Her Cozy Plans for Diwali 2025 with Home-Cooked Delights
Diwali 2025 | My Diwali is going to be quiet with home-cooked food, says Vaani Kapoor
Vaani recalls the chaos of childhood during festivities.
In contrast to the hustle of the Indian film industry during Diwali, actor Vaani Kapoor anticipates a serene celebration this year. “I’m planning a quiet Diwali with a select few close ones, savoring home-cooked meals. I believe the essence of celebration lies in warmth and mindfulness,” she expressed. Vaani emphasized the importance of lighting diyas and sharing joy with those who might not have the opportunity to celebrate elaborately.
Growing up in Delhi, Vaani holds vivid memories of her childhood Diwali celebrations. “I recall the joyous chaos—all my cousins gathered, the flickering diyas, and the occasional mishap with sparklers,” she reminisced. The spirit of Delhi Diwalis was vibrant, filled with dance and food, uniting family members in joy.
Vaani fondly shared about the familial rituals that often lead to playful chaos. “We kick off with a pooja that inevitably morphs into laughter and jests—someone forgets the matchbox, while another grumbles about the sweets,” she added with a smile.
When she manages to return home, Vaani engages in decorating for the festivities. “It is all about diyas and fresh flowers, showcasing mouth-watering dishes. Even when work commitments pull me away, we make sure to FaceTime and stay connected,” she explained.
Vaani believes that the true spirit of Diwali extends beyond acquiring new items, stating, “The essence of the festival shines brighter when we prioritize love and tranquility over materialism.”
The culinary delights of Diwali hold a special place for Vaani, who has a love for traditional sweets. “Gujiyas and motichoor laddoos are my favorites during this festive season,” asserted the 37-year-old actress.
On the flip side, Vaani confessed that she does not cook extensively for the celebrations. “I primarily focus on lighting diyas. Since I live alone, I tend not to whip up elaborate meals. However, I strive to prepare something nostalgic that makes me feel at home. Food embodies the emotions of Diwali—comfort, nostalgia, and love,” she concluded.
