Udhayanidhi Stalin Urges Vijay, TVK Leaders to Prevent Future Rally Stampedes

Udhayanidhi Stalin, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and a noted actor, addressed the media regarding the tragic stampede that occurred during a rally in Karur. He emphasized the importance of responsibility among political leaders.

Speaking with PTTV News, Udhayanidhi remarked, “I don’t wish to point fingers at anyone. This is not the time for politics. The DGP has already clarified security arrangements. Meeting the public is a right for every leader, and it cannot be prohibited.”

He stressed the need for leaders to manage attendees effectively. “While organizing rallies, punctuality is vital. TVK leadership needs to ensure they are at the venue on time to prevent such tragedies from recurring,” he added.

A Shocking Incident

Recent reports indicate that 39 individuals lost their lives and 95 were injured during the unfortunate stampede at the TVK rally on Saturday. Tamil Nadu’s Health Secretary, P Senthil Kumar, stated, “95 individuals are currently under care, with 51 in the Government Medical College and Hospital. Most are stable, apart from one case.”

The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) has mentioned that an inquiry into the incident is currently underway. “Preliminary investigations are being conducted, and a case has been filed concerning the tragic loss of life,” he confirmed.
