Twinkle Khanna Shares Story Behind Rishi Kapoor’s Illegitimate Daughter Claims
Twinkle Khanna shares a humorous tale about Rishi Kapoor’s birthday tweet that sparked online confusion regarding her parentage.
Twinkle Khanna recently amused viewers with a quirky anecdote about the esteemed actor Rishi Kapoor. This amusing story unfolded during a new episode of her talk show, “Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle,” featuring guests Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan.
Twinkle’s Hilarious Revelation on Two Much
In her recounting, Twinkle elaborated on how a seemingly innocent birthday greeting from Rishi Kapoor years ago ignited speculation among social media users regarding her being his illegitimate daughter. The confusion originated from a playful tweet Kapoor made, reminiscing about filming with her mother, Dimple Kapadia, while she was pregnant.
Twinkle humorously stated, “I almost became a Kapoor because of Alia’s father-in-law. On my birthday, he tweeted, ‘Oh, you know… when you were in your mother’s stomach, I serenaded her.’ This led everyone to believe I was his illegitimate daughter!”
This delightful misunderstanding quickly spread across social media, prompting discussions and confusion until Rishi Kapoor himself had to clarify. He later tweeted an apology, explaining, “Happy Happy Birthday, dear one! You were in your mum’s tummy when I was serenading her in Bobby in 1973 lol.”
Throughout the episode, Kajol even noted Alia’s surprised reaction as Twinkle shared the story. Twinkle, catching on to Alia’s bemusement added, “I’m not your sister-in-law; it was just a misunderstanding.” Varun Dhawan quipped, “She doesn’t know how to react.”
Review of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle
A commentary on “Two Much” noted, “After two episodes, the show doesn’t feel overwhelming. The exchanges are light without too much complexity. Kajol and Twinkle often play the role of passive listeners, mostly laughing along rather than steering the conversation. The format appears clipped, making for an inconsistent flow of discussion. I find myself wondering if my expectations were too high for a show called ‘Two Much.’
