Twice and Blackpink Drop New Music Simultaneously: A K-Pop Showdown

In an exciting moment for K-pop enthusiasts, both Twice and Blackpink, two of the most prominent girl groups in the genre, dropped new music simultaneously on Friday at noon.

Twice, featuring members Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu, revealed their fourth full-length album titled This Is For, along with a music video for the album’s title track.

Meanwhile, Blackpink, comprising Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa, premiered the music video for their first new song, Jump, in quite some time.

Twice’s This Is For is a fully English empowerment anthem, featuring uplifting lyrics aimed at inspiring women.

On the other hand, Jump showcases a distinct sound for Blackpink while still retaining their trademark charisma.

Both tracks have been received positively, with fans commending the visuals and styling in the accompanying music videos.

Following these releases, Twice and Blackpink are set to embark on their respective world tours.

The This Is For tour by Twice will kick off at South Korea’s Inspire Arena on July 19, with a concert in Singapore scheduled for October 11 and 12. Further details about ticket sales will follow.

Blackpink’s Deadline tour commenced on July 5 at Goyang Stadium in South Korea, attended by Nayeon and Jihyo. The Singapore leg of their tour is set for November 29 and 30, with tickets already sold out.
